Effectiveness of Online Recruitment

E-recruitment

When it comes to human resource management, today's businesses tend to rely on quick advancements in internet technology. As a result, the method of recruiting candidates for open positions has shifted to electronic recruitment.

Applicants can upload papers, email, and conduct real-time interviews via audio and video applications with just a few clicks, and employers can locate qualified candidates by assessing, interviewing, and hiring them according to job requirements. Recruitment is more effective and efficient as a result of this.

This strategy is simple, quick, and inexpensive, and it can be used anywhere in the world, as opposed to traditional recruitment, which takes longer, costs more, and is difficult to approach geographically (R. Marr, 2021).

Different types of E-recruitment

Depending on the employer's preference, finances, and convenience, e-recruitment can be done on a variety of websites, including corporate websites, social networking sites, and job boards (Villeda et al., 2019).

Corporate website: -

The benefit of posting job openings on a cooperative website is that applicants will learn about their job descriptions as well as other information about the organization's culture.

Job Boards: -

These can be utilized to provide candidates by resuming mining or posting available positions on the board of employment. The recruiting sector includes both huge employment boards such as Monster and CareerBuilder and smaller work boards and work board complement sites.

Social Media: -

As businesses strive to keep up with new trends and technological breakthroughs, more employees are embracing the digital world by creating their own Facebook page, LinkedIn profile, and/or Twitter account, resulting in the

creation of Corporate social media. As a result, Corporate social media has shown to be a very effective advertising channel with numerous advantages over traditional media.

system as an E-recruiting solution. Nike combined current systems with

PeopleSoft’s ActiveRecruiter system as an E-recruiting solution.

  9. E-Recruitment is the way forward given the present situation. Most of the companies even in Sri Lanka have adapted the E-Recruitment process, for instance, HNB does its Junior Executive, Executive and Trainee interviews online. As discussed above it has its own pros and cons but on my personal view, it is a very effective way of performing interviews. In Srilankan context, physical interviews are time consuming in terms of travelling, so on the interviewer part its more cost effective and time saving. I agree that the E-Recruitment is way forward and effective.
