Organizational Learning as a Key Role of Organizational Success


Smartphones, tablets and computers are becoming increasingly intelligent, and so can we. The solution to every conceivable inquiry may be found in the millions of Google search results can be generated in nanoseconds with a single query. What Is a Learning Culture?

A learning culture is made up of a group of employees that have been imbued with a "development mentality." People not only want to learn and implement what they've learned to benefit their company, but they also feel driven to share their expertise with others(Grossman, R., 2015).

Importance of Organizational Learning.

The importance of organizational learning is shown by the various benefits that occur in organizations that develop a learning culture.

  • Lower turnover rates.
  • Developing leaders at all levels.
  • Increased employee job satisfaction. 
  • Increased productivity, profits and efficiency. 
  • Enhanced adaptability throughout the organization.

When companies invest time and money in creating a learning culture and implementing organizational learning, they become more competitive. Organizational learning is important because it enhances the ability to react quickly to rapidly changing market conditions. An organization that views failure as a learning opportunity and examines its own processes will get a better grasp of best practices and become more flexible. In an environment where all workers are teachers and students, there is an egalitarian exchange of information, allowing each person to make a meaningful contribution.

Challenges to HRM in Enhancing Organization Learning.

Organizations nowadays have a lot of expectations to satisfy when it comes to offering learn to their employees. Organizational learning will no longer be as straightforward as sending your staff to training or a full-day lecture. It will be a continual process of development (Talerngsri, 2018).

Technological developments - As technology advancements accelerate, the HRM department must retrain and upgrade its staff.

Globalization - As industries extend their operations to other nations, HR managers must be knowledgeable about the employees' and the company's demands in the overseas market. They must also study the native language of the other nation.

Socio-cultural factors - There are many types of employees, such as young and highly educated people, female employees, married female workers, and so on, and they should not be discriminated against.

Management of human relations - The current generation of workers is smarter and more conscious than their predecessors. As a result, inspiring and building employee commitment becomes more difficult.

After creating a true learning organization, continuous learning must become a way of life. It is embedded in the company's culture. Learning should not be hindered or interrupted once it has begun. Other learning companies that have mastered the art of continuous learning and product adaptation are given as examples.

  • Intel: - It continues to outpace its numerous competitors by constantly developing new products and reinventing its business, based on its cultural norm of "paranoid collaboration".
  • Cisco Systems: - Building on its massive installed base, it promotes and rewards new thinking, allowing it to stay ahead of its competitors.
  • Southwest Airline: -  Built on industry-first principles (point-to-point travel, no allocated seats, rapid loyalty incentives, etc.), it thrives on continual innovation and an unwavering dedication to customer care. 

ABC Private Limited is continuously inventing and implementing new technologies and, by understanding the lifetime worth of its clients, considers them as long-term assets.

Conclusion

Organizational learning assists businesses in adapting to the constant change that surrounds them to remain competitive and creative. To survive and flourish, it is beneficial to understand knowledge creation, retention, evolution, and transfer. An organization that encourages organizational learning may quickly adjust to a changing environment and remain relevant.
